If you want to see sea in Japan? 城ヶ島(Jougashima) is one of the answer.

In this post, I'll talk about 城ヶ島(Jou-ga-shima) that is one of the tourist area in Kanto region.

You can see sea in Jougashima.

Summary

Jougashima is a island connected by a bridge in Kanto region.

Jougashima is located the tip of Miura Peninsula.

Jougashima is a popular sea landscape, but 江ノ島(Enoshima) is more popular than.

In Jougashima we can eat tuna because it is local speciality. Port of 三崎(Misaki) region including Jougashima is base of pelagic fishing.

Jougashima is in Kanto region.

Jougashima is about this area.

How to go to Jougashima and other info

You can go to Jougashima by bus or car.

The bus leaves from 三崎口駅(Misakiguchi-station).

Misakiguchi station is end station of 京浜急行(Keihin-Kyuko, it is called 京急"Keikyu" for short). The station is full of travel because I feel the time is stopping for 30years at the station with small rotary and kiosk for tourist. I like the country station.

But I have no station photo because I went to Jougashima by bike for this visit.

Someday I will upload the photo.

Jougashima is written 城ヶ島 in Japanese.城 is a castle. Some reason is claimed.

One of the simple reason is there was a castle. Another one is times made a Kanji character with a different readings.

ヶ don't makes much sense. Speaking of, it means "of".

島 means island. 

In short, 城ヶ島 means castle of island. But the island don't have castle.

 

Local speciality at Jougashima

In Jougashima we can eat tuna sashimi and young sardine.

Because it is local speciality. Port of 三崎(Misaki) region including Jougashima is base of pelagic fishing.

We ate 漬けマグロと釜揚げシラス丼(dsuke-magro and kamaage-shirasu don) at かねあ(Kanea).

漬けマグロ means pickled tuna with soy sorce and mirin(Japanese sweet sake).

I often make dsukemaguro too, it's popular for my friend.

釜揚げシラス means boiled young sardine.

In this sentence, 釜揚げ is boiled but it means to take out from big kettle in literal translation.If you use the word boil in Japanese, you should use the word 茹でる(yuderu).

Young sardine is usually eaten by boiled or raw. Raw sardine is offered when there was fishing of young sardine. Young sardine perishable and they are local speciality at 三浦(Miura) or 江ノ島(Enoshima) or other region near by the sea.

Of course, young sardines grow sardine and a young sardine is small to eat.

But young sardine is delicious and even people who don't like sardines because of their fishy smell may like young sardine.

Red fish is pickled tuna. White is young sardine.

Others are miso soup and pickles.

Tatami style is calmed down me.

Kanea equipped with a chair too.

We lined up for about 20 minutes.

Kanea had wide selection.

You can use 三崎まぐろ切符(Misaki-Maguro-Kippu, Misaki tuna ticket, it is sold at Keikyu station and the ticket offer you transportation and meals at Misaki) at Kanea.

馬の背洞門(umanose-doumon, back of a horse cave gate)

After meals, we walk at coast.

Many lives on the rocky shore. Crab, shellfish, hermit crab, or fish are.

You can fish there. You can see largescale blackfish.

Pacific Ocean.

We arrived at umanose-doumon. There is popular spot of rocks carved by waves.

Wedding photo was taken there.

Jougashima face Pacific Ocean and you can play there. There is nice area.

News in Japanese internet, ぬるぽ(NullPo) and ガッ(gut) is the 20th anniversary of their birth

 I will talk about very silly story in this post.

This news won't make some help in your life.

Nevertheless, if you are the people interested in Japanese internet culture you should see the post.

Summary

In Japanese internet, if you find post that said ぬるぽ(Nullpo), you should post ガッ(gut).

It has no worth but old habits in Japanese internet.It's one of internet meme.

It comes from a 2ch(Japnese internet site like a raddit) write 20 years ago.

But they are endangered species today.

However, if you write ぬるぽ(Nullpo), someone will post ガッ(gut) because internet has 温もり(nukumori, it means warm).

History of NullPo

If you are system engineer or programmer, you may have seen combination of Null and po.

I'm sorry if it stimulated your trauma, but it refers to the NullPointerException.

To explain in an easy-to-understand manner other than programmers, it's an error in the programming language JAVA, usually it means you have some mistake.

In June 20th 2002, the thread with the title "Let's call NullPointerException ぬるぽ" was build in programmer board.

The 1 wrote the ASCII art that said NullPo.

After 2 minutes, 2 wrote gut and ASCII art that shew hit >>1.

 Curiously the exchange of ASCII art had been popular in 2003.

However sometime troll used the exchange, chaos of internet accepted the exchange.

The exchange was shown in comment on the video like ニコニコ動画(NicoNico-Douga, popular video site in Japan. But Youtube is more popular than them today.).

Now 2022, young people or who don't immersed in internet culture don't know the exchange.

But if you write ぬるぽ, someone will write ガッ.

Chaos of internet has warm (at that time, it is called ヌクモリティ"Nukumority", the word made of 温もり(nukumori means warm) and quality), or old internet man will never forget that fun time.

Whichever it is, if you see ぬるぽ and ガッ, I want to watch over with raw-warm eyes.(It's okay to look at something they are doing meaningless)

Trip to Gunma, room with open air bath is hot!

 In previous post, I talked halfway about my trip to Gunma.

In this post, I'll talk the rest.

Summary

I visited Gunma for hot spring and enjoyed it.

Next day, we saw dam and columnar joint. 

After it, we enjoyed drawing picture experience on the glass.

The room we visit equiped open air bath. Of course, it was hot spring.

We left "川場田園プラザ(Kawaba-Denen-Plaza, it was roadside station), and we went to hot spring inn.(I wrote the post about Kawaba-Denen-Plaza in previous post.)

On the way we stopped at a convenience store to buy some liquor.

The liquor you drink after taking a hot spring is the best.

Seven Eleven is one of the most popular convenience store.

The assortment was normal.

After stopping covenience store, we went to the hot spring inn.

In this trip, we stayed ”千の谷(sen-no-tani means thousands valleys)” in ”猿ヶ京(sarugakyo)”.

Entrance

This is motif of traditional hot spring settlement. Some traditional hot spring resort pump up spa with like this settlement.

Small kiosk was. Local speciality was sold.

After check in, we entered the room. The room mixed Japanese style and Western style.

We can see dam lake and mountain. Landscape was good.

The room is bed style.

The room equipped open air bath. If you are couple or firmly, private bath might be what you need. Of course, if you are alone monopolies the bath is best.

The best way to enjoy hot spring

I will talk about the best way to visit hot spring.

If you visit hotel with hot spring, you should take a bath soon. After refersh wear the Yukata.

Yukata is usually equipment in Japanese hotel. It let the wind through. Your hot body will be cool.

Then you should eat some snack with green tea.

Hotel usually prepare some snack and tea. The snack included 餡子(Anko is traditional sweet cream in Japan that is made of red beens) or cream and the bitterness of the tea made nice combination like donut and coffee.

After refresh, you should take a hot spring again.

Hot spring accept you as many time as you like even midnight.

After take hot spring three times, we ate dinner.

In Sen‐no‐tani, dinner is buffet style.

There was sushi.  People living in prefecture without sea tend to like sushi. My house is 30 minutes drive to the sea.

After dinner, we took hot spring.

Further, we enjoyed drinking. If you drink you should be care of take a hot spring.

If you want, you can drink in the hot spring. We are free at room with hot spring.

 Green onion flavor cheese and Konnyaku was bought in Kawaba‐denen‐plaza.

The hotel offer us free beer and wine. The best!

Take a hot spring with star in midnight is cool.

The morning is bufet style too. The omelette made with 明太子(mentaiko is egg of cod)sauce by chef is good.

Traditional  inn at Japan usually offer us dried horse mackerel or other fish. In Sen-no-tani,  mackerel is offered.

納豆(natto) is fermented soy beens. Despite the smell it is loved in Japan.

Good morning.Of course, we enjoyed hot spring last. Hot spring accept you as many time as you like, I said again.

相俣ダム(Aimata-dam) and columnar joint

We checked out the hotel and went 相俣ダム(Aimata-Dam). The dam can be shown at hotel. In short, the lake in previous photo is Aimata-Dam.

I saw columnar joint. They are formed when the magma cools and hardens.

The dam lake is named 赤谷湖(aka-ya-ko).It means red valley lake.

The board said structure of dam.

相俣ダム (aimata-dam) is so tall.

俳句(Haiku, it is short poem) is written in right card. First character(あ) is emphasized. It seems that all 50 character is emphasized.

We are offered dam card at management office. To collect dam card is little popular. The card talked about features of the dam. The number of dam card is over 600. Japan has many dam.

月夜野びーどろパーク(Tsukiyono-bidro-park), you can make memories made of glass.

We went 月夜野びーどろパーク(Tsukiyono-bidro-park, Tsukiyono means moon night plain) after seeing dam.

You can make or paint or assemble some glass product.

We painted on the glass there. 

You can buy some glass there. 

The signboad said factory tour, glass art museum, experience workshop, crystal gallery.

At first, we had a glass painted experience because we had to wait for baked glass.

We chose painting and bought them. We chose \1,300($9.8) one.

Painting glass is difficult. The paint dripped because glass don't absorb paint.

We ate lunch for waiting glass baking.

There was a restaurant.

We ate udon and soba.

We visited shop and museum and factory.

In shop, many glasses were sold.

In museum, glasses coming from many country was shown.

In factory, you can have factory tour or making glass experience.

Not-standard products were sold cheaply at factory side shop.

The baggage was filled not-standard products.

It's a find base, but is it out of standard?

I bought dish out of standard. It is ￥800(＄5.9).

They are so cute glass.
